Black

Blue

Harlequin (black and white smudges)

Mantle (Black with white underbelly and legs)

Fawn (with a black mask)

The history of the Great Dane goes back to mainland Europe especially Germany. The German Mastiff as the Dane has been known to be called dates back to times whereupon they were used to hunt wild boar. Their ears were cropped to prevent the board from hanging on to the Danes' ears and ripping them, this practice of cropping the ears has almost been eradicated in most of Europe as it is considered unnecessary and barbaric. The Great Dane\s size can vary dramtically at adult age (approximately 2 years). The average size being 70kgs, although a healthy Dane can range from 60-80kgs.

Breeding Great Danes is very risky if you are not an extremely experienced dog breeder. Breeding dogs of any kind in the UAE is illegal unless you have acquired a licence from the municipality. Serious complications can arise from breeding Great Danes if you do not know what you are doing. Genetic deformities, unwanted behavioural issues, serious health problems are to name but a few of the problems associated with breeding a Dane. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BREED YOUR GREAT DANE.
