Feeding
Feeding your Dane
Threre are two options with regards to feeding your Dane, one is to feed commercial kibble or Barf feeding, otherwise known as raw feeding.
Feeding your Dane kibble is a practical solution to giving your Dane a balanced diet, certain kibble has been known to reduce the risk of Bloat and also help remove plaque from teeth due to the biscuit nature of kibble. High protein levels have been known to make Great Danes hyperactive and reduce the levels can ensure a more settled Dane.
Barf feeding is a little more technical and a lot of research is required to ensure you give your Dane a balanced diet. There is ample amount of information on the internet to advise on raw feeding. Barf feeding in Dubai can be a lit more tricky as fresh meat should be used at all times, and there can be questionable food here, so consider very carefully where you get your meat from and be absolutely certain it is fresh before feeding your Dane.
Due to their size Great Danes should be fed at least twice a day, three times a day for puppies. Giving your Dane his daily ration in one feed is not suitable. Also remember that you should never exercise your Dane 2 hours before or after feeding to prevent any possibility of gastric torsion (bloat). See under Healthcare for further details.
