Having grown up with these gentle giants I am just thrilled to see that someone is looking after these misunderstood animals in an country where animals are not generally well looked after. I can see a lot of the issues that these animals must face when being in a country whose population generally fears animals due to a lack of education, especially huge dogs!! If my hubby & I move to a villa, we would love to adopt an elderly dane and give them a lovely last few years of their life, we will be in touch!!

Hi Guys, Yes, I actually got out to Dubai but things were so busy with all the red tape and paperwork, sorting out residency papers and driving permits etc. Anyway eventually settled in Mirdif and no sooner had I sorted everything out was I back over to Cyprus for their International Show. Naturally I am handling the Danes, so keep fingers crossed we do well. I think there are a couple of naughty puppies waiting for me to put them through their paces so that will be a challenge :-) Anyway, lovely web site you have and passing on to you my compliments for the great job you are doing. I hope you soon find a home for the lovely 9 year old boy who cannot fly, give him a special hug from my babies here. I hope to be back in November so we most certainly should hook up and you can introduce me to Danedom in U.A.E.
Take care and letâs hope those sizzling temperatures soon drop and that Danes will have some rest bite from those very hot days.
Best Wishes

Calling all Dane lovers, we do still have a black dane needing a home. He is currently staying at an unsuitable location. He does need veterinary care, ie dental, lump biopsy, so there would be costs attached, although Great Danes in Dubai would help contribute, his ears have unfortunatley been cropped (not very well), so is not the most handsome Dane in the world, but he has a typical Great Dane nature and has so much love to offer. The landlord of his previous home wanted him out. Please contact us via email at info@homelypetz.com if you are seriously interested in helping this guy, thanks, Amanda

Just to say that I am most imprest by your lovely site and happy that Dane care in U.A.E is something taken seriously. I have a home in Mirdif so am a frequent visitor and I would be interested to meet for a coffee next time I am over and you can tell me all about your Dane involvement or up and coming shows.
Kind regards

hi, you are doing a good job when helping Danes to be rehomed. Your Dane Duke is a very beautiful boy. Best wishes also for the little one, his playmate. We here in Germany at LIBERTE Great Danes are happy that finally the winter with much snow and cold is gone, although the Danes had much fun to run in the white snow but they now prefer to rest in the warm sunshine. thank u, as i have already talk to a vet here and they told me how painful the surgery was and that there could always be complications, plus the fact that it takes about 4month to a year for it to heal,
thanks again, and i will be keeping my dane just the way he is.

Great Danes in Dubai also does not agree with cropping ears. As Sandy has mentioned this is an outdated practice, is illegal in most parts of Europe and becoming very unpopular in most parts of the western world. It is unnecessary, painful and disfigures the look of the Dane. There are no clinics in Dubai that perform this practice fortunately.
Thank you everyone for your comments and support thus far. We at present do not have any Danes needing homes, but we have your details on file for any future unwanted/abandoned Danes.

Please do not consider cropping ears. This is an out dated practice and quite cruel, done on very young puppies usually , please look up actual surgery and taping required post-op.The practice comes from early days of the breed as hunters and was to prevent the dog being injured, not relevant to todays lif as a companion
A dane is a beautiful gift in anyones life, and they come packaged in love and devotion
and do not need changing

hi all,
does anybody knows a hotel in Dubai where dogs (great dane size) are allowed?
We want to stay in a hotel for a short while, before we rent a villa over there. Would that be possible? I can't find any hotel wich allow dogs on the internet so far. Hope someone can help me out!
Thanks!
