Dubai is in the fortunate position of being able to provide the paperwork necessary for your Dane to be imported into the United Kingdom without the statutory 6 months quarantine.

To take advantage of this your Great Dane must have a Rabies Blood Test done at a participating veterinary clinic, blood is taken from your Dane and sent to an approved government laboratory in the UK. On the test passing your Dane then has to wait 6 months from the date that the blood was taken before he/she can enter the UK without quarantine. A laboratory letter will be given to you stating that your Dane has passed the test, you keep this letter with your vaccination booklet and microchip number until you enter the UK. On entering Heathrow Reception Centre you will be asked to hand over the paperwork and this in turn will be made into your Dane's Pet Passport.

It is best to plan this in advance, the transient and unpredictable nature of being an Expatriate can catch you off guard and ensuring your Dane has had this test and waited 6 months gives you piece of mind that you and your Dane can enter the UK without the quarantine restrictions being enforced.
